Two killed in accidents

Two persons, including a techie, were killed in separate accidents in the City on Friday. Niveditha Jha, 27, a resident of Sarjapura and a native of Odisha, fell down and came under the wheels of a BMTC bus, after her two-wheeler collided with the bus.

She was killed on the spot due to serious injuries. Jha was going to Whitefield from Sarjapura when the accident occurred, said the police.

An engineer with a private firm, she had come to the City two years ago.

The accident occurred while she was trying to overtake the bus, added the police.

Mowed down by tanker

Ramcharan, 28, a native of Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, was killed on the spot after a tanker mowed him down at Kuvempu Circle. He was proceeding from Goraguntepalya to K R Puram when the accident took place. The police established his identity based on his driving licence.

The police alerted the parents and moved the body to a hospital for a post mortem, said the police.
