The West Indies began the last day of the series on 308 for nine, needing a further 51 for a most dramatic victory, but were dismissed for 323 when Kemar Roach was adjudged caught behind off Doug Bollinger.
After umpire Billy Bowden made the original decision in favour of the fielding team, Roach asked for the decision to be reviewed, which too ruled in the fielding team’s favour.
West Indian captain Chris Gayle was named man of the match and man of the series for back-to-back hundreds in the Adelaide and Perth matches.
