Rakshith, Swetha emerge champs

Rakshith RB and Swetha K emerged champions in the men’s and women’s categories respectively in the Bangalore Urban District State-ranking table tennis here on Tuesday.

In the men’s final, Rakshith prevailed over a fighting Akshay Mahanta 11-9, 7-11, 11-4, 11-5, 11-13, 11-9. 

Earlier, Rakshith had set aside Anirban Tarafdar 11-6, 11-2, 11-8, 10-12, 12-10 in the semifinal.

In the women’s category, Swetha K scored a facile 11-4, 11-8, 11-6, 11-7 victory against Kushi V to bag the crown.

In the junior boys’ title round, Vedanth M Urs rallied to overcome Rakshith RB 5-11, 13-11, 9-11, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 11-4.
