3 held for peddling brown sugar

 The Central Crime Branch police, on Thursday, arrested three persons and recovered 37 gm brown sugar worth Rs 2 lakh from them. 

The suspects Fairoz Shareef, 44, resident of Benson Town, Balavignesh, 23 and Karan, 20, residents of HAL, were arrested near Corporation Bank, Coles Road, while they were peddling the banned substance. 

The police have also recovered two bikes and two cellphones from them.

During interrogation, they revealed that the brown sugar was obtained from Mohammad Ali, resident of Mumbai and Victor, a foreign national in Mumbai. According to the police, the trio would frequent Mumbai to collect brown sugar, stuff it in small sachets and sell them.
