Arvind announces tie-up with The Children's Place

 Apparel maker and retailer Arvind has embarked on an expansion drive by announcing that its subsidiary, Arvind Lifestyle Brands Ltd has entered into a franchise agreement with The Children’s Place, the largest pureplay children’s speciality apparel retailer in North America on Thursday.

Arvind Limited Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Lalbhai said, “We are extremely pleased to bring The Children’s Place to India. The Children’s Place will be the first of its kind children’s retail format in India. It will be a one-stop shop for children from infants to 14-year olds.:

“We are delighted to bring The Children’s Place to India which I am confident will be a big attraction for all mothers with young children in India,” he added.

 “The Indian kidswear market presents huge opportunity and we are confident of gaining dominant share of the Indian kidswear market with the launch of ‘The Children’s Place’, America’s largest kidswear speciality retailer,” said Arvind Lifestyle Brands Ltd Managing Director & CEO J Suresh.

“We will invest Rs 150 crore to open 50 stores across the country in 2015,” Suresh said.Arvind Lifestyle Brands Limited aims to double its turnover to Rs 5,000 crore by 2018 from Rs 2,400 crore currently.
