<p>Markets coming under the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits will get a makeover with the funds allotted under the Nagarothana scheme.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Organic Waste Converter unit at Madiwala vegetable market on Monday, Bangalore Urban district in-charge minister Ramalinga Reddy said that facilities such as toilets, platforms, parking lots among others will be upgraded at the existing markets. <br /><br /> The work will be completed within six months time, he added.The organic waste converter set up at Madiwala market is a joint venture of Aruna Green Ventures Private Limited and BBMP. <br /><br />The plant has the capacity to process 250 kg of organic waste, everyday, said Director of the Aruna Green Ventures, Kumar Subba Rao.<br /><br />“We can increase the capacity of the converter to 5,000 kg depending upon the response to the project. <br /><br />The converter has been set up at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. The Palike has provided space and electricity supply for the project,” said Rao.<br /><br />Mayor B S Satyanarayana said that wet waste collection centres will be set up across the City on the lines of dry waste collection centres.</p>
