Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Prathishtana President Gangadhar Padubidri said that during the programme, gallant warrior Rangappa Huliyappa Alura from Bagalkot who lost both his legs and one arm in Kargil war will be honoured along with senior dance guru of the region B Premnath. They will be felicitated be Excise Assistant Commissioner N M Hussien.
The programme will be inaugurated by Karavali Group of Colleges Founder President A Ganesh Rao while Karnataka Tulu Sahithya Academy President Dr Palthadi Ramakrishna Achar will preside. Shri Devi Education Trust President A Sadananda Shetty will distribute books to economically backward students.
Dr Devi Prasad Hejmady, Social worker Yathish Baikampady, Sathish Bhat, Tulu writer Athrady Amrita Shetty, Mamatha Shetty and Jyothi Jain will be present.
Cultural programme will be held in which Doordarshan artist Sharanya, Aparna Shetty will perform bharatnatyam, Nagaveni Ranibennur from Bangalore will perform mono act, Harshita Shetty and troupe will perform peacock dance, Vidya and troupe will perform ‘Atikalanja’, Sudarshan and troupe will perform ‘Kangilu’, Aruna and troupe will perform Hulivesha.
