File disposal week

The State government began its file disposal week from Tuesday at the secretariat.

Chief Secretary Kaushik Mukherjee has recently issued a detailed circular, directing all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries to dispose of files on top priority.

Staff of the departments where large number of files are pending for disposal till July have been directed to work on holidays also, an official release stated.
All files and letters have to be entered in the computerised Letter and File Monitoring System.

Any file at the secretariat has to be disposed of within three days, the release added.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had recently taken serious exception to a large number of files pending at the secretariat and directed the Chief Secretary to take steps to dispose them of within 15 days.

Besides, the chief minister had directed all the ministers to spend at least two days a week at their offices and clear files.
