Kidnapped boy rescued in quick time

 A 11-year-old boy, who was kidnapped for ransom near his house in Jnanajyothi Nagar under Jnanabharathi police limits on Friday evening, was rescued by the police on Saturday evening.

According to police, Jaikiran was returning home from school when two men came in a car, bundled the boy into the vehicle and drove away. Suresh, the father of the boy lodged a missing complaint after the boy did not return till late in the evening. 

Suresh got a call from the kidnappers in the night, demanding a random of Rs 80 lakh for the release of his son. He was told to come with money near Nice Road junction.

Suresh immediately informed the police and the police started tracking down the mobile phone from which the ransom call was made. The police also asked Suresh to tell the kidnappers that he was ready to pay the money, added police.

On Saturday afternoon, the police directed Suresh to meet the kidnappers and they followed him. As they reached Nice road junction, the duo saw Suresh and they also noticed a few men moving around. They realised that police were after them and fled the spot leaving the boy behind. The police tried to chase them but they had escaped, added police.

The boy was rescued and the police are trying to gather details about the kidnappers, a senior police officer said.
