Road work put on hold

It was decided to put the project in the back burner for the time being as it would lead to protests from residents and shop owners along the route. The Government does not want to take any step that would hurt the feelings of people ahead of the crucial BBMP elections.

Recently, Bangalore in-charge Minister R Ashok had directed the BBMP to temporarily stop all 71 road widening projects in the wake of protests from residents in some places. However, the Cabinet has approved a Rs 16.15 crore II phase development of Yalahanka Lake in Byatarayanapura zone.
