Bidding adieu to Bina Rai

The death of the famous heroine of yesteryears, Bina Rai (1932-2009) of Anarkali, Tajmahal and Ghunghat fame, was deeply mourned by all film-goers and especially by the Kapoors.

Her funeral and chautha in Mumbai found the Raj Kapoor family in full attendance.
Bina Rai was Krishna Raj Kapoor’s bhabhi. Her husband Premnath was Krishna’s brother.
Prem Chopra’s wife Uma is also a part of this family. And so all of them were there — Krishna, Prem, Uma, Randhir, Ranbeer, Rishi, Shammi, Rajeev and Neetu Kapoor bid goodbye to the actress.

Once renowned as the beautiful Anarkali, Bina Rai  stayed home after her marriage to the flamboyant actor Premnath.

Scribes present felt that Bina Rai got the farewell she so richly deserved.
