EC did not consult us on bypoll date: TN CM

He was reacting to demands by AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa and PMK founder Dr Ramadoss to postpone the Pennagaram bypoll on the ground that it coincides with the harvest festival Pongal on January 15.

Karunanidhi said the EC had not consulted the state government before announcing the dates for the previous by elections too.
He said the son of late Periyannan, P Inbasekaran would be the party's nominee for the Pennagaram seat.

The Pennagaram bypolls are slated to be held on January 20.
