Need to restore Karnataka Sangha building in Kadur

Last Updated 25 December 2009, 16:56 IST

Later a Sangha was build on similar lines at Sringeri and was followed by Kadur in 1946. A Sangha building was built on a 60x30 land by 1948. The building was inaugurated by the then Mysore state Revenue Minister Shimoga H Siddappa. The building was given for running high school for a period of two years and later due to spoilt political scenario, the Karnataka Sangha building was taken over by a group of theatre performers and renamed the building as ‘Kannada Kala Sangha’. Now this art group does not exist. At present an International voluntary organisation has been functioning in the same building and the people of this organisation have been behaving as though they own the Karnataka Sangha building. Though elected representatives and authourities know the fact that Karnataka Sangha building needs to be brought out of the control of this organisation and needs to be restored nothing has been done in this regard so far.
