Bhimsen Joshi gets award

The award will be presented to the legendary musician on January 5 at his residence in Pune.

The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The award was instituted in 1999 to promote Indian classical music by honouring eminent musicians who have made a significant contribution to Indian classical music.
