He was speaking to the media after inaugurating internet world at Government Maharaja High School and PU College in the city. The minister said that majority of the parents were reluctant to admit their children to government educational institutions because of the depleting quality of education in those schools and colleges. “If quality was ensured, why would they prefer private institutions?” he questioned.

Mincing no words, the Minister said that he will hold the concerned DDPI, DDPU, block education officers, head masters and principals accountable if there was no improvement in the admission of students at government educational institutions from the next academic year.

Kageri regretted that despite providing facilities like mid-day meals, uniforms, computers and bicycles, students belonging to lower middle class and economically weaker sections were also opting private institutions. This clearly indicates lack of quality in education. By admitting more number of students from the next academic year, the government wants to repose faith in the educational institutions, Kageri added.
