JOIN USBus Day will soon be observed at different divisions of Bangalore Metrolpolitan Transport Corporation in co-ordination with the local residents and social service organisations in the coming days.
BMTC will observe Bus day in Vijayanagar Division in November, Yelahanka in December, Krishnarajapuram in January next year and HSR Layout in February. ‘Bus day’, aimed at encouraging the public to use mass transport to commute within the City, has completed four years. The 57th ‘Bus Day’ was inaugurated by Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Tuesday. Kannada actors Srinagara Kitti, Dhruva Sarja, director Chethan Kumar among others participated.
Awards were presented to depots which have achieved less percentage of cancellations, less diesel consumption, less crew absenteeism and highest earnings per km on monthly and quarterly basis.
Shanthinagar Depot was awarded for the month of April, Kothanur Dinne for May, Shantinagar for June, Indiranagar for July and for the April-June quarter, Kothanur Dinne.
