Big win for Karnataka

Hosts Karnataka produced a clinical performance with the ball on the final day to beat Goa by an innings and 226 runs in the under-16 South Zone Vijay Merchant Trophy here on Friday. 

The big win helped Karnataka gain seven points, including a bonus point. Brief scores: At Mysore: Karnataka: 447 all out bt Goa: 87 all out 48.1 overs and 134 all out in 89.1 overs (Manathan Khutkar 38; Dev Padikkal 4-53, Utham Aiyappa 2-15). 

Tamil Nadu: 393/9 decl. in 106.4 overs drew Kerala: 177 all out in 102.1 overs and 125/ 6 in 66 overs (Akhil Scaria 41; R Aravind 3-14) 

At Mandya:  Andhra: 385/9 declared drew Hyderabad 148 all out in 58.2 overs and 216/2 in 81 overs (MS Charan 137 n.o., M Pratyush Kumar 28, Sohail Shaik 30 n.o.).
