A contribution of their own

for a cause

The final-year B Pharmacy students of PES College of Pharmacy, Hanumanthanagar celebrated ‘World Food Day’ by taking a pledge ‘not to waste food’ and ‘to provide food for all’.

They took a rally from the college campus to an orphanage, Anatha Shishu Nivasa in NR Colony, Bull Temple Road, which houses one 150 children, from three-month-old baby to 15-year-olds.

The students sponsored a full-day meal, gifted fruits, sports items, baby products like diapers, lactogen, baby powders, baby shampoos and old clothes to the kids. They also interacted and educated these kids about basic hygiene and entertained them with various cultural programmes.

The students through the rally spread awareness regarding world food problem, to strengthen unity in the struggle against hunger, malnutrition and poverty.

It was also an opportunity for them to see an environment comprising underprivileged children and uplift the standard of living of these destitute kids by contributing in their own way.
