Delhi men score thrilling victory over Rajasthan

Delhi won the thrilling encounter 21-25, 17-25, 25-22, 25-13, 15-12.

Delhi lost the first two sets rather tamely but upped the tempo and went on to clinch the next three sets in a match that lasted 95 minutes.

In another telling match, Chandigarh scored a 25-22, 25-21, 20-25, 25-20 win over Assam in Group D.

Having won the first two sets in succession, Chandigarh looked in control but Assam pulled one back before Chandigarh went on to seal the encounter in their favour in 87 minutes while Himachal Pradesh had it easy against Madhya Pradesh with a facile 25-19, 25-21, 25-23 win in a match that lasted 70 minutes.

In the women’s category, Punjab registered a 11-25, 25-20, 25-23, 25-21 win over Himachal Pradesh while Madhya Pradesh, who are also in Group C, scored a thumping 25-1, 25-8, 25-7 win over Bihar.

Punjab eves lost the first set rather easily but soon got the rhythm back to put off Himachal’s challenge, winning the next three sets to claim the match.

In Group D action, Haryana tamed Rajasthan 25-19, 25-15, 25-18 in a one-sided battle that lasted 63 minutes and Jharkhand too barely broke a sweat in their 25-7, 25-11, 25-12 rout of Orissa in a 50-minute match. Delhi women had it easy against Uttrakhand registering  a comprehensive 3-0 win.
