According to the police, Jagadish Rao (36), Harsha (14) and Sunil (32) were washed away by a huge wave. The body of Jagadish Rao was recovered. All the three hail from Ummarabettu in Karkala.
A family of 12 persons had come to the beach. Harishchandra, Parjwal, Harsha, Jagadish Rao and Sunil were playing in the water when they were washed away by the wave.
The locals could rescue Prajwal and Harishchandra from drowning. Rao was working at a lamination shop while Sunil was a worker at a garage.
Harsha was the son of Harishchandra and Bhageerathi and was the student of a school in Bangalore. He had come to his native place to celebrate Deepavali.
Bhageerathi and her family was supposed to return to Bangalore on Sunday.
