Governance in State deteriorating: BJP

The State BJP on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Governor Vajubhai Vala to take cognizance of the “deteriorating situation” in all aspects of governance in the State and to take steps under constitutional guidelines to “bring back administration on the right track”.

A delegation led by party State president Pralhad Joshi and comprising former deputy chief minister R Ashoka and several legislators, submitted the memorandum to Vala at the Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

The memorandum mentions the assault on IAS officer Rashmi Mahesh at Mysore, the recent incidents of child abuse in schools, attacks on people from Northeastern states among others. “The State is reeling under lawlessness at all levels. The infighting among top leaders of Congress, rampant corruption and ineffective governance have ruined the State,” the memorandum stated.
