Delhi Public School Bangalore North celebrated its Annual Day, ‘Antarranjan’, recently.

The occasion was graced by Amitav Mukherjee, vice-president, Human Resources, ITC;
Puneet Pathak, principal, Chief Conservator of Forests;  Rajdeep Manwani, co-ordinator, Commerce department, Jain University;  Anuradha Vikrant, danseuse; and the members, Board of Management.

Scintillating and enthralling performances on both days portrayed the theme of ‘Antarranjan’ – ‘Sharing Similarities, Celebrating Differences’. Day one saw the primary segment present a musical extravaganza based on the beloved fictional character Noddy and his travels around the globe. The performance captured the diverse cultures of the Earth.

The programme for classes three to five revolved around contentment and self-acceptance, expressed through the story of ‘Kermit the Frog’. Kermit observed the creatures of the animal kingdom dance away and overcome their hardships to live a happy life.

Principal Manju Balasubramanyam, in her address said “We need to teach our children to respect diversity while they respect their own identity. We at DPS Bangalore North wish to create an equitable society where people have mutual respect and tolerance for one another.”

She emphasised the need for inclusion and outlined the steps the school has taken towards creating an inclusive society which catalyses the great potential and capabilities that reside within all of us. The seniors  carried forward the noble theme. An intricately woven musical dance-drama, with unique elements like mime and shadow play, mesmerised the audience.

The theme was reiterated at the culmination of the programme when the National Anthem was rendered in sign language, exhorting everyone to cast aside all differences and celebrate the joys of life.
