Ruchika’s father Subhash Chander Girhotra met Chidambaram at the latter’s invitation. Girhotra was accompanied by his lawyer Pankaj Bhardwaj and family friend Anand Prakash. They discussed the 19-year-old case with the minister who, according to them, gave them a patient hearing. “We are completely satisfied with the meeting. The home minister knew everything about the case,” Bhardwaj said after.
He said Chidambaram discussed the possibility of charging former Haryana DGP S P S Rathore with the abetment of suicide of a minor. “I have been asked by him to provide all documents related to the litigation. We will be most likely called again by the minister,” he said. Girhotra said he was satisfied with the outcome of the meeting.
