25 names deleted from 1998 KPSC selection list

The Karnataka Public Service Commission has included 28 new names and deleted 25 candidates in the selection list of gazetted probationers for 1998.

The ranking and selection of 140 candidates have been affected in the revised list uploaded on the KPSC website on Wednesday. As per the list, published after fresh moderation and interview, the cadre of some of the serving Group ‘ A’  officials has been downgraded to group ‘B,’  while the rank of some the officials has went up. Interestingly, the names of the petitioners who moved court against KPSC, alleging irregularities in the selection, do not figure in the list. 

The selection list was revised on the directions of the High Court. The court, on November 11, had directed the KPSC to upload the revised list on its website, within 24 hours. The revised list was submitted to the court in a sealed cover. 

The affected candidates will have to submit their objections to the court within two days. A division bench comprising Justices N Kumar and B Manohar is hearing the mater on day-to-day basis.
