<p>RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has called for creating a new education model acceptable to all, drawing from India's rich ancient past when the country was a great centre of learning.<br /><br /></p>.<p>People are not happy with the education system and there is a worldwide view that the ways of teaching and learning require a comprehensive change, Bhagwat said addressing a gathering of academicians here last night.<br /><br />"They are all looking towards India to provide a new direction as in ancient times the country was the greatest centre of learning," he said.<br /><br />"We held leadership position for centuries and now have to regain it," the RSS chief said.<br />Over 250 eminent academicians and educationists from all over the country yesterday gathered for a two-day conference on 'Nationalist Education: Concept and Structure,' organised at Reshimbagg premises of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) here by Ahmedabad-based Punarotthan Vidyapeeth (Revival University).<br /><br />Senior RSS functionary Suresh Soni also addressed the conference yesterday.</p>
