<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sent an invite to attend a wedding ceremony at Jayapur, a village in his Lok Sabha constituency of Varanasi, which he had adopted recently.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Residents of the village feel that Modi was now “like a family member” and therefore, the invite has been sent to him. <br /><br />Modi has been invited to attend the marriage ceremony of Jyoti Kumari.<br />The marriage would be solemnised on Monday, and preparations were in full swing.<br />“We want the Prime Minister to attend the marriage ceremony,” said Jyoti’s mother Shyam Dulari.<br /><br />“Modi is now our guardian after adopting our village,” she added. <br />She said the family members as well as other residents of the village will be very happy if Modi blessed the girl.<br /><br />The invitation card to Modi has been sent through post a week ago.<br />Jyoti’s family members also said they wished Modi would perform some rituals at the ceremony.<br /><br />Many residents of the village also Modi’s presence at their functions.<br />“The Prime Minister will now be invited at every function at the village,” another villager said.<br /><br />Modi had, during his recent visit to Varanasi, adopted Jayapur, 15 km from Varanasi town.<br /><br />He had addressed a meeting at the village, where he announced a slew of projects for the village.<br /><br />Many of the residents, however, were not sure if the Prime Minister would be able to spare time to attend the marriage ceremony and bless the couple.<br /><br /></p>
