Bollywood reacts to Gauahar Khan slap incident

While starlet Gauahar Khan refused to comment on the attack on her, her boyfriend Kushal Tandon said they won't let the accused off hook.

"This incident goes on to prove the fact that there is no security for the artistes. How do we interpret a situation wherein a person can come and hit a star in Filmcity? This shows stars aren't safe in Filmcity," Kushal Tandon said reacting to the incident, according to a CNN IBN report.

Slapping of Gauahar Khan while she was shooting for a reality show, has sent a shock wave across the Bollywood fraternity, with many of her colleagues and fans coming out in support of the actress. A few celebrities took to Twitter condemning and expressing their disgust over the incident.

"Shocked to hear that Gauhar Khan got slapped for alleged indecency. Absurdity just touched a new level. Disgusting and highly condemnable," said ace filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar on his Twitter account.

"Dearest natural selection, please help us out-evolve morons like the one who slapped Gauhar Khan. Sincerely...," said chorgrapher-turned-director Farhan Akhtar.

"How dare someone judge a womans character by the clothes?Ridiculous!Im disgusted and ashamed to know what happened with Gauahar Khan!Take action now!," said TV actress Vandana Sajnani.

"ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Gauahar Khan slapped live on air by man from the audience for wearing revealing clothes," tweeted TV host Mini Mathur.

Gauahar Khan was slapped by a member from audience in Mumbai for wearing short clothes, while she was hosting the finale episode of 'India's Raw Star'. The accused Akil Malik has been booked under appropriate sections of law for attacking the actress.
