Woman nabs two stalkers in 3 days

Chaitra L, who was honoured by the City police for nabbing her stalker on Monday, helped Police nab another person, who too allegedly misbehaved with her, here on Wednesday.

The accused has been identified as Jameel Ahmed, a resident of Lashkar Mohalla, in the city, and a case has been lodged at Devaraja Police Station. Zameer has been sentenced to judicial custody.

According to Chaitra, the incident occurred as she was walking towards City Bus Stand on Albert Victor Road.

Complaint

“As I was walking along the road, I suspected that a person was following me on a two wheeler. I noticed that the bike was behind me when I reached Chamarajendra Wadiyar Circle. As soon as he realised that I was observing him, he approached me and started conversing with me. He said that we had known each other three years ago, while working in an industry in Nanjangud. Contrary to his claims, I was working in Bengaluru, three years ago,” she has said in her complaint.

Later, Jameel allegedly asked whether Chaitra would go with him and offered money, following which she snatched the key from the vehicle and raised an alarm.  “Auto-drivers nearby came to my assistance,” she said. Following this, Jameel was handed over to the Police.

Probe

Chaitra’s complaint against two alleged stalkers on consecutive days has raised suspicions among the police. It is now learnt that the accused had provided contradictory information to the cops, while they were investigating both the incidents.

“Therefore, we are thinking of probing the girl’s antecedents,” police sources said. It is also learnt that the accused has denied the charges against him and maintained that he spoke to her, thinking she was an acquaintance.
