26-year-old accuses live-in partner of raping her repeatedly

A 26-year-old employee with a Gurgaon-based private firm has accused her live-in partner of repeatedly raping her by promising marriage.

She alleged that the man later backed off from plans of marriage and would threaten to defame her on social networking sites.

A police officer said the accused man has not been arrested yet despite the complaint being filed by the woman on Tuesday.

An arrest would be made only after probe points to a rape, the officer told Deccan Herald.

The woman and her male friend were in a relationship for over a year and had been living in south Delhi’s Kalkaji.

She accused him of establishing physical contacts with her despite her objections and after assuring her that he would marry her.

The accused allegedly continued raping her by threatening to back out off the marriage.

On November 22, she called him on his mobile phone only to be answered by another woman who claimed to be his girlfriend.

When she confronted him physically, he allegedly threatened to leave scars on her face with a shaving blade.

She claims to have instead snatched the blade from his hand and slashed her own wrist.

A week later she allegedly found him in the Safdarjung Enclave-located house of his girlfriend upon which she decided to approach police on Tuesday and lodge a complaint of rape and criminal intimidation.
