Delhi woman raped by cab driver

A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a cab driver while returning home here after completing her shift at a Gurgaon-based finance company, police said Saturday.

The incident took place Friday night after the woman boarded a cab provided by her company.

The driver, 44, allegedly offered a spiked drink to the woman. When she became unconscious, he raped her.

The woman, a resident of north Delhi's Inderlok area, regained consciousness Saturday morning and realised that she had been raped.

She approached the Sarai Rohilla police station and lodged a complaint against the cab driver.

Police said they have identified the driver but he is still on the run.
