'Janata Parivar' parties to stage protest against NDA govt

Last Updated 12 December 2014, 19:47 IST

Representatives of the erstwhile Janata Parivar will protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on December 22 against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s “failure” to implement the poll promises, JD(S) leader and former prime minister H D Deve Gowda said on Friday.

Gowda told reporters here the NDA government had failed to keep its promises to bring back black money stashed abroad and solve farmers’ problems. He said the Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had been authorised to lay the groundwork for the merger of erstwhile Janata Parivar parties. Samajwadi Party, Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (Secular), Indian National Lok Dal and Samajwadi Janata Party have in principle agreed to merge.
