Google on Sunday marked the  90th birth anniversary of legendary film actor Raj Kapoor, who is celebrated as 'The Show Man', with a creative doodle.

The Google doodle was inspired by the actor's iconic roles in 'Awara' and 'Shree 420.'

Raj Kapoor was born in 1924 in Peshawar, today Pakistan, to Prithviraj Kapoor and Ramsarni Devi Kapoor. He made his film debut when he was 10 with 'Inquilab' in 1935. His first movie as a solo hero was 1947 'Neel Kamal' opposite Madhubala.

Later, the actor never looked back. He also started his own production house R.K. Films and produced several iconic films under his home banner. He made his directorial debut when he was 24, with 'Aag' starring himself in the lead.

''Mera Naam Joker' (1970) was one of the films he produced, directed and acted in, which is considered to be a classic.  The film also marked the entry of erstwhile heartthrob Rishi Kapoor in film industry as a child artist.

Raj Kapoor was suffering from breathing problems in his last years. During an event where he was invited to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his contribution to the Indian film industry, he collapsed and was rushed to hospital. He was in hospital for a month before he passed away due to complications related to asthma at the age of 68 in 1988.
