NC rejects BJP chief's assertions on J&K govt

Last Updated 02 January 2015, 20:21 IST

The National Conference (NC) on Friday ridiculed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah’s claims that they were in touch with both the NC and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the issue of government formation.

“Our party president (Farooq Abdullah) and working president (Omar Abdullah) are in London. I am not able to understand with whom the BJP is talking over the issue (government formation),” NC spokesman Junaid Azim Mattu told Deccan Herald.

Earlier in the day, Shah had reportedly said in Mumbai that talks over government formation in Jammu and Kashmir  were on with both the PDP and the NC. “There has been no fruitful outcome (yet),” he said.
