Coast Guard spotted another Pak vessel: Sources

Last Updated 03 January 2015, 04:20 IST
Even as the crew of a suspicious Pakistani boat blew it up when challenged by the Coast guard, top sources revealed that authorities were tracking another vessel in the waters between the two nations.

Sources quoted in TOI, said that, the second boat, which also came from Karachi, was spotted around the same time as the first one, by the second sortie of a Coast Guard Dornier aircraft that flew in from Porbandar.

The incident which brought back memories of the operation undertaken by terrorists who had launched the dreaded attack in Mumbai in November, 2008, took place during the midnight of Dec 31 and Jan 1.

The Coast Guard along with other security agencies are maintaining a high vigil along the coastal areas so as to ward off any attack from the sea.

Security is at an all time high alert owing to inputs that Pakistan-based terrorist outfits have camped in atleast 8 locations along the International border, desperate to carry out 'spectacular strike' ahead of Obama’s visit as chief guest for the Republic Day parade.

With Pakistani Rangers targetting border outposts in Jammu and Kashmir, tensions are very high between both countries.
