The incident took place on Monday after the girl residing at the varsity hostel left the premises without the permission of the hostel warden on the pretext of meeting a black magician on January 3.
After leaving the hostel she went to meet an acquaintance identified as Pradeep More, who then took her to BMHRC to meet one Dr Raghuraj Pandey, the police said. Later, they were joined by black magician Anand Mishra who, in the name of performing some rituals, asked her to drink liquor mixed with medicine to make her unconscious, Bagh Sevania Police Station head, Gopal Singh Thakur said.
The trio then allegedly gangraped her in turns on the night of January 3, he said.
The girl was rescued on Monday after she messaged her hostel warden about the trouble during a movie show at a city hall where Mishra had taken her for a movie. The warden informed the police who reached the cinema and took the accused into custody.
