Cesc issues alert against online payment

Chamund-eshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (Cesc) Limited has issued an alert through a circular against payment of bills online through an unauthorised website.

Cesc is yet to launch its online payment facility through its official website - cescmysore.org. However, it has been reported that few consumers have been making online payments through a private website https://paytm-.com.

Electricity charges paid through this website has not been credited to Cesc, while the Corporation has not entered into any agreement with the said agency. Cesc has also said that it will be not responsible for the losses. Cesc MD Kiran said the matter came to light three days ago, following which the circular was issued.

Power supply disrupted on January 9 between 10 am and 4 pm at - Ramakrishna Nagar E and F block, H block, Vivekananda Nagar circle, Madhuvana Layout, Nimishamba Layout, BEML, Sriramprua, Devaiahana Hundi, Preethi Layout, Saraswatipuram, Gangotri, Kuvempunagar, Janatha Nagar, Sharadadevi Nagar, Aravinda Nagar, Chikka Haradanahalli, Kuvempunagar Complex, Akshay Bhandar, K G Koppal, T K Layout, Gangotri Layout, Krishnamurthy Layout, Niveditha Nagar and surrounding areas.
