Galeej Gurus’ will perform at Phoenix MarketCity on January 9, 6 pm onwards. The band believes in exploring music and also have as much fun as possible while doing so.

They have been a part of the music industry since 2000 and have played over 500 gigs at various places in India and abroad. After 13 years of touring and performing, they are working towards the release of their debut album this year.

In 2008, ‘Galeej Gurus’ won ‘SHAMAL’, an international battle of the bands held in Dubai and performed at the Dubai Desert Rock Festival alongside ‘Velvet Revolver’, ‘Muse’, ‘Korn’, ‘Machinehead’, ‘Killswitch Engage’, ‘As I Lay Dying’ and ‘Slapshock’.

They have also opened for legendary rockers such as ‘Mr Big’, ‘Korn’ and ‘Deep Purple’ in India.  They also played alongside ‘The Rasmus’ in 2005 and were a part of the warm-up concert during the Bryan Adams concert in 2004.

The band believes that their music genre can’t be classified but fans have termed their music as indie along with a touch if alternative, funk, and blues-rock. One can see the influences of Led Zeppelin, ‘Red Hot Chili Peppers’, Eric Clapton, Steve Vai and ‘Deep Purple’. Their originals include ‘Full Meals by the Wayside’, ‘Believe in Tomorrow’, ‘High Above’, ‘Better When Blown’, ‘Make Some Noise’, ‘Physiological Breakdown’ and several others.

Watch ‘Galeej Gurus’ perform live at The Courtyard, Phoenix MarketCity, Mahadevapura, Whitefield Road.
