Saffron outfits reiterate commitment to 'ghar vapsi'

Saffron leaders on Sunday reiterated their “commitment” on “ghar vapsi” (homecoming) and also pledged to work for making India a “hindu rashtra” without hich the “interests” of the community could not be “protected”.

“We too are opposed to conversion... the population of Hindus has declined owing to religious conversion... but ghar vapsi is right,” said Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) international general secretary Praveen Togadia while addressing a “hindu mahasammelan” (meet) here.

“Hindus have suffered a lot because of conversion... the country too has suffered,” the VHP leader asserted. He said that the VHP had “prevented millions of Hindus from converting in the past 10 years”. “We will continue to encourage the homecoming as there is nothing wrog with it,” he added.
