Jimenez leads India Open field

Spanish professional Miguel Angel Jimenez will be the star attraction in a strong field, comprising Asian and European players, in the Hero India Open that will take place at the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) from February 19-22.

The 51st edition of the tournament boasts of an enhanced prize money of USD $1.5 million and will be co-sanctioned with the European Tour for the first time.

Jimenez, known for his charisma, has won 21 times on the European Tour and has played Ryder Cup four times. The 51-year-old was also the playing captain of the European Team at the inaugural EurAsia Cup in Malaysia last year.

The Spaniard will lead the field which is likely to have the presence of the 2013 champion Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh besides the top Indian players of the likes of SSP Chowrasia, Anirban Lahiri, Rashid Khan and Chiragh Kumar. Last year both Lahiri and Chowarasia finished tied second.
