Folded hands, smile on the face, a concerned voice, and all ears for the electorate. Following these conventional ways to woo voters, this Bharatiya Janata Party candidate carried out a spree of padyatras and meetings with the electorate across his constituency on Wednesday.

Only a day is left for campaigning to end for the Delhi Assembly elections. Vijender Gupta, former Delhi BJP head, is eying the Rohini constituency seat in these polls. He started a padyatra on Wednesday at 8 am in sector 15 in Rohini area.

He was seen assuring people that he will solve the issues that are plaguing the constituency. And his supporters were heard shouting, “For clean drinking water, proper sewerage and decongested roads please vote for the BJP.”

“I am aware of the ground realities here and the development of the area is our top priority,” said Gupta. On the recent surveys showing the Aam Aadmi Party getting an edge over the BJP, Gupta said, “The BJP will form the government with two-third majority.”

Gupta carried out a series of rallies, over eight, in Raja Vihar, Suraj Park and Naharpur where he was joined by BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and MP Jagdambika Pal.

The whole area was covered in the colours of the BJP and energised by the powerful oratory of the BJP leaders who spoke on the good work being done by Prime Minister Modi-led Central government.

Gupta was seen greeting passersby with warm hugs as an autorickshaw fitted with loudspeakers played BJP party jingles. He also held a meeting of doctors at Ashirwad Banquet Hall in Sector-13.

“The problem of sewage and drainage remains a major concern for residents of the area. If the BJP comes to power then these issues will be resolved and moreover the slums will get all the basic facilities,” he said.

Last Assembly elections AAP’s  Rajesh Garg defeated BJP’s Jai Bhagwan Aggarwal from Rohini. Passing by a school Gupta was seen enjoying a light moment with children who were coming out.

The total number of registered voters in Rohini is over 1.50 lakh. Gupta is contesting against AAP candidate C L Gupta and Congress party’s Sukhbir Sharma this time.
