The Department of Kannada and Culture assistant director of Chikmagalur, MS Chandrappa was trapped in June 2009 while accepting Rs 1,000 bribe from artistes for disbursing Rs 10,000 cheque and was kept under suspension.
However, the Chief Whip of the government DN Jeevaraj, MLAs CT Ravi, MP Kumaraswamy and DN Suresh addressed a letter to B S Yeddyurappa on June 6 requesting him to reinstate Chandrappa at the same post and place.
The CM acted as per the demand and directed the concerned to prepare a file revoking the suspension. Accordingly, the suspension was revoked on December 2.
