Prakriya School, IISc win Earthian awards

Prakriya Green Wisdom School, Sarjapur, and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bengaluru, were declared winners of Earthian awards, Wipro’s global sustainability education programme for schools and colleges, announced on Saturday.

They were among several other winners from across the country. The award carries a cash prize and certificate.

The theme was ‘Water in our school’. The programme aims at creating spaces for sustainability learning and action within education process in schools and colleges. It is divided into three segments of activities: building skills, attitudes and values to shape a sustainable future.

The award is given out in two phases. In phase one schools and colleges are invited to participate across the nation and the world and concludes with the selection of the best educational institutional entries.

Second phase

In the second phase, selected institutions are enrolled as a part of a continuous engagement programme. This joint, collaborative engagement brings winning institutes, and sustainability expert partners, together to learn from unique learning experiences for teachers, students, and institutions.
