A woman has allegedly killed her son by pushing him into a well and has committed suicide by jumping into the same well at Somanahalli, near Maddur, on Saturday.
The deceased are Shilpa (28), wife of Manohar, and Tanish (3). Manohar is running a hotel at Somanahalli Industrial Area. Shilpa had left home after telling Manohar that she was visiting her parents in Hanumanapura, along with Tanish, at 3 pm on Saturday. When she did not return in the evening, Manohar called his in-laws, only to find that Shilpa did not visit Hanumanapura.
Bodies found
On Sunday morning, passersby found the bodies of the woman and the child floating in the well on the field of one Narayana.
The reason for the suicide is not known.
It is said that the couple’s another son Tanush is at Shilpa’s parents house in Hanumanapura. Police have registered a case.
