With the elections over and the exit polls predicting an AAP majority, Arvind Kejriwal spent the morning with his family members on Sunday.

However, he did not lose touch with party volunteers and connected with them through social media.

In the morning Kejriwal thanked his volunteers on Twitter.

“Volunteers. U did an amazing job. Relax for 2 days. Spend wid ur family. Sleep. Watch movies. Meditate. Chill. God bless u.”

The AAP chief had meetings lined up with senior party leaders in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, BJP’s chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi also took to Twitter to thank the Election Commission and party volunteers: “Wish to thank the entire Election Commission and all persons deployed for brilliant work in conducting the elections so very professionally.”

She had meetings scheduled in throughout the day, a close aide said. In the morning, Bedi tweeted: “Good morning Delhi. Every day is a new day. Only thing constant and predictable in the Sun Rise.”

Congress campaign chief Ajay Maken also did not find any breather on Sunday and he spent the day meeting party workers. “He took stock of the situation in his constituency (Sadar Bazar) and the entire Delhi in his capacity as the election campaign chief. He also met some of the candidates and reviewed the situation,” said his aide.

While some candidates held meetings and were in no mood to relax, a few others took a break from meetings.

Congress candidate Sharmistha Mukherjee from Greater Kailash constituency said she had no meetings planned for the day. “I am completely relaxing,” she added. Asked on her reactions on the exit polls, she said the final day was only slightly over a day away now.
Debutant Nupur Sharma, who contested the elections against Kejriwal from New Delhi constituency, said there was no time to de-stress even with the elections over. But she would find some time to be with her family too in late evening.

“I met party volunteers throughout the day. We also have meetings to review the situation. But I decided to take some time off after 7.30 pm to spend a couple of hours with my dad as he is leaving for abroad.”

Even with the exit polls predicting an AAP victory, turncoats put up a brave face even on Sunday. BJP candidate from Jangpura M S Dhir who had won the 2013 Assembly elections from an AAP ticket said, “Quitting the AAP was a right decision at the right time. Kejriwal quit the government and violated the people’s mandate. I have the people’s support.”

Meanwhile, anticipating victory for the AAP, residents met candidates in meetings.
AAP’s Saurabh Bhardwaj from Greater Kailash constituency said he had 11 wedding functions to attend in his capacity as an ex-MLA. “Residents had called us over in Shahpurjat, Kailash Hills and Sant Nagar to congratulate us in anticipation that AAP will win,” said Bhardwaj.

Meanwhile, Madan Lal, the AAP candidate from Kasturba Nagar constituency, spent the day with his family in Mathura. “I was not well for the past few days. I decided to spend the day in Mathura.”
