Vishwanath ton spurs Mount Joy

A solid batting performance from Mount Joy Cricket Club, led by M Vishwanath’s century (132), helped them outclass Vidyaranya Cricket Club by a huge margin of 138 runs in the KSCA Special Tournament for Zonal Champions and Top Six teams here.

Helped by Vishwanath’s century, which came of 87 balls (15x4, 6x6) and a half century from Rajkumar (73), Mount Joy CC piled up a strong total of 311 for eight in 50 overs.

In response, Vidyaranya CC batsmen failed to put up a fight and were bundled out for 173 in 45.3 overs. Anil IG (3/22) was the most successful bowler for the winners while Harish Kumar and Shivil K were also among wickets.
