Youth Cong, Seva Dal to function out of Congress House

The State Congress is planning to house offices of its various frontal organisations, cells and departments at “Congress House” on Race Course Road near Anand Rao Circle where the JD(S) office was located.

The party’s frontal organisations like INTUC, Seva Dal and Youth Congress do not have their own offices.

The party office located on Queen’s Road hardly has any space to house them. So the party is planning to allocate offices to these organisations and cells at Congress House, KPCC general secretary N S Boseraju said.

He said KPCC building construction committee headed by G Parameshwara will soon meet to decide on how to make use of the building in future.

The JD(S) leader Ramesh Babu handed over keys of Congress House to KPCC president G Parameshwara on Monday. Later, Congress workers led by MLC R V Venkatesh entered the building. The party celebrated by bursting crackers and distributed sweets. They have put up a banner saying that the property belongs to the Congress party.

Black magic?

It was speculated that black magic has been performed on the premises of Congress House. Coconuts wrapped in red cloth and some lemons tied to yellow threads were found in a corner of the premises.

Some Congress workers were of the view that JD(S) workers would have performed black magic in order to harm the Congress.

However, Venkatesh said somebody might have played mischief and that it should not be taken seriously.

Meanwhile, the JD(S) has temporarily shifted its office belongings to a godown in Hennur. It is speculated that the party may open an office in that locality.
