A 32-year-old woman has alleged rape on the pretext of marriage for the last six years. The accused is yet to be arrested, police said on Saturday.
The woman who hails from Rajasthan is a journalist working with a newspaper. She is a divorcee and has a daughter from her first marriage. They live in Gurgaon.
On Friday, she told police that she was befriended by a 38-year-old man named Aakash around six years ago. Aakash had also claimed to be a divorcee and developed physical relations promising marriage.
“However, recently, she found out that Aakash was married. He lived with his wife in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj,” said a police officer.
She confronted Aakash on which he confessed to be married.
On Friday, she went to Vasant Kunj North police station and filed a rape case.
He is absconding and efforts are being made to arrest him.
