A speeding oil tanker knocked down a 67-year-old man near Hudson Circle in the early hours of Saturday. Police have identified the deceased as Derek Sequeira, a retired technician and a resident of Eijipura.
The accident occurred when Sequira was crossing the road. Passersby stopped the tanker and nabbed the driver, Paramesh, who was trying to flee the spot. He was handed over to police who shifted the body for post mortem. Halasuru Gate police have registered a case.
