<p>A 25-year-old man was shot dead by three motorcycle-borne assailants at a gym in outer Delhi’s Alipur on Tuesday.<br /><br />Police suspect that the attack was carried out over property dispute.<br />They have identified the accused.<br /><br />The victim has been identified as Arun Maan, who was unemployed and lived with his family in Alipur village.<br /><br />Police said a call was made to the police control room around 8.50 am.<br />“Arun was attacked without any warning when he was in the gym near Rishi Kunj Public School in Alipur,” said a police officer.</p>.<p><br />Eyewitness told police that three men came on a motorcycle and opened indiscriminate firing.<br /><br />Police said five bullets were fired from a country-made pistol, of which, one hit Arun in the abdomen.<br /><br />“Despite the firing, one of the men at the gym threw a dumbbell at the attackers. It hit an accused on the head due to which he fell unconscious,” the officer added.<br />The man was later arrested and was identified as Manjeet.<br /><br />Police, however, are yet to record his statement and are waiting for him to be declared medically fit for making a statement.<br /><br />The other two accused also opened fire in the air to escape without being overpowered.<br /><br />When police control room staff reached the spot, Arun and Manjeet were found injured.<br /><br />They were taken to Satyawadi Raja Harish Chandra Hospital, where Arun was declared brought dead.<br /><br />A case of murder has been filed with Alipur police station under Indian Penal Code and Arms Act.<br /><br />Arun’s body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem on Tuesday afternoon. </p>.<p><br />After questioning Arun’s family and friends, police have established that he was involved in several disputed properties.<br /><br />It is also claimed that he had received several threats in the recent past.<br />“The exact sequence of events is yet to be ascertained,” the officer said.<br /></p>
