The City police have picked up two men from Patna in Bihar in connection with the Church Street blast case in December last year. They are being brought to the City for further investigation.

A top police source said, “They are suspected terrorists of Indian Mujahideen (IM) and are said to be part of the team which carried out the Hunkar rally blast in Patna in October 2013. After the blasts, they were arrested. They are identified as Haidar Ali and his associate Omar Siddique. They are being brought to the City for interrogation after getting a body warrant from a court in Patna. Hope they will throw more light on the Church Street blast.”

Alok Kumar, Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), said, “For now, nothing can be confirmed about their role in the case. It is only after they are interrogated can we ascertain whether or not they were involved in the blast case.” The source said Haidar was said to be heading the IM module in Ranchi.
